The Creature Comes to Tampa!
On Sunday August 2, the historic Tampa theater will show The Creature from the Black Lagoon in 3-D! The show will begin at 3:00 pm. Not only can you enjoy the monster classic in the 3-D format it was originally shown in; originally made for no less, the Tampa Theater has to be one of the best places to show a classic monster movie. It is an old theater in downtown Tampa, with an almost Gothic feel to it. Now, a video guy/ web designer is no art history major, but the design of the place is really old fashioned, with curtains and interesting statues inside. I remember seeing a play in there as a child and thinking how spooky it was .... and I was watching Charlotte's Web! Watching an old classic like the creature in such a setting should give the evening an atmospheric delight! According to the Tampa Theater's website, you will receive a pair of free 3-D glasses as well (I'm guessing you can keep them) ? This event is not one to be missed; and it begs of a road trip for true fans in my opinion! I think they show classic horror films at the Tampa Theater in October as well, or at least they have in the past. This film is part of their summer classics series. Check them out online www.tampatheatre.org.
