Save Bray Studios

There is a growing interest to save Bray Studios, an historic site in Britian for the film, television, and recording industry. The studio was owned by Hammer, who was famous for producing horror movies in the fifites, sixties, and seventies. The studio also did some science fiction, and was responsible for the B-Movie classic One Million Years BC with Raquel Welch. It also produced may lavish remakes of the 1930's horror movie classics, which roots in classic literature. Christopher Lee and Peter Cushing both started in Dracula and Frankenstein franchises produced by the studio. Lee went on to play villains in the recent Lord of the Rings and Star Wars franchises; Peter Cushing was Grand Moff Tarkin, Darth Vader's Boss, in the original Star Wars film (Star Wars: A new Hope).

The studios were leased out to other media interests, and according to another blog, other notable things were filmed or recorded at the studio. I wouldn't know anything about that though.

You can find out more about Bray here and here, you can find out more about Hammer Studios here.

Star Wars Fans-did I spell Grand Moff Tarkin right?
